The beginning

I have a friend who is one of those people that makes you feel like you're clever and full of potential all the time, even if it isn't true. She told me I should start a book blog. I laughed. She said that to me about 4 times and then I started to really think about it. I don't love blogs (I think the word blog sounds like a euphemism for throwing up), but I started thinking it might be cathartic and fun to write about the books I read.

Not because anyone else cares. Not because I read very important things. But just because I love to read, and maybe it will be fun to do. We'll see.

Deciding on a name for this blog was hard for me. But I ended up on "my library fine" because I have had a running library fine for as long as I can remember. It's not on purpose- I always pay it eventually, but it's there.

Today's library fine is $1.05.

The Beginning

I have a friend, a clever, accomplished friend who always makes you feel like you're terribly interesting and full of good ideas. She told me I should write a book blog. I laughed. Blogs are not my favorite things. But I really do like to read, and I like to write, and eventually thought I'd try it out. Isn't that how every blogger starts? What I have to say must be very interesting - everyone must want to hear what I have to say!

I'm hoping that this book blog will be sort of therapeutic, or just fun. Or at least not boring.

It was very hard for me to choose a name for a blog. I ended on "my library fine" because I have had a running fine at the library for as long as I can remember. It's not on purpose and I pay it off frequently. . .but it always comes right back.
